Opening 07.08.14: The Skyscraper Museum’s exhibition “Times Square, 1984: The Postmodern Moment” explores a pivotal moment in the history of the public space, when its past and future collided as proposals to build four mega-skyscrapers on the corner sites at the crossing of Broadway, 7th Avenue, and 42nd Street elicited protest. An alternative ideas competition for the site organized by MAS and the NEA drew more than 500 proposals. The exhibition includes 20 drawings from the competition.

Through 08.12.14: The Museum of Arts and Design’s latest exhibition, “NYC Makers: The MAD Biennial,” spotlights the workmanship of at least 100 leading artists, artisans, and designers in New York City.
