About Town
Opening 03.27.14: “Palaces for the People: Guastavino and the Art of Structural Tile” will open at the Museum of the City of New York (MCNY), 1220 Fifth Avenue. The exhibition will present the contributions of the Guastavino Fireproof Construction Company (1889-1962) to some of America’s greatest public spaces. Curated by MIT Professor John Ochsendorf, “Palaces for the People” was originally shown at the Boston Public Library. At MCNY, it has been substantially expanded to include some 20 key Guastavino spaces in the five boroughs.
