Through 10.12.14: The New York Transit Museum’s “Anatomy of a Powerhouse: Electrifying the El”, showcases the construction and early operations of the 74th Street Powerhouse in impressive black and white photographs from the Museum’s archival collection.
Through 04.23.14: Design firm Situ Studio was chosen to create a display system for the American Folk Art Museum’s exhibition, “Folk Couture: Fashion and Folk Art,” organized by guest curator Alexis Carreño and the museum’s Chief Curator and Director of Exhibitions, Stacy C. Hollander. The work of thirteen designers, asked to create original couture responding to works of art from the museum’s collection, will be displayed in custom pedestals specifically crafter for each garment.
